Wago takes over 'Zaphire' building management software
The Wago Group is further expanding its building automation business and has acquired the 'Zaphire' building management system (BMS) from the Scandinavian group Granitor.
A BMS controls functions such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting and room automation in buildings. Thanks to the proprietary platform, Wago controllers, sensors and actuators are now directly integrated into the Wago Building Ecosystem without third-party interfaces.
Zaphire' focuses on openness and, according to the provider, significantly reduces the engineering effort. This makes the platform suitable for small to medium-sized buildings and retrofit projects. The BMS is already in use in numerous buildings, including some of Norway's largest hospitals and municipal properties.
The Zaphire BMS was developed by a team in Norway and previously belonged to the Scandinavian group Granitor. With effect from April 30, 2026, the Wago subsidiary Wago Building Technologies was founded in Drammen, into which the entire Zaphire development team was transferred. CEO is Morten Aasen, CTO is Christian Lundheim. The team in Drammen works closely with the developers in Minden.
Granitor will continue to use Zaphire as the preferred solution in Sweden and Norway and will act as Wago's installation partner.
